Concert Etiquette

When should I applaud during a symphonic concert?

Traditionally, applause is held until the end of a piece of music. Please hold your applause until the conclusion of all movements of a piece – after that, feel free to stand up and cheer!

Can I take photographs during the concert?

Photographing is permitted, but please consider that flash photography may prevent others from enjoying the concert and could even distract the performers. Taping GSB concerts is strictly prohibited. No audio recording devices are permitted without special authorization from the GSB.

Can I bring my child to an evening concert?

Absolutely! Children (and adults) of all ages are encouraged to attend our concerts! Children under 8 are admitted for free.

I'll be attending my first GSB concert. What should I wear?

There is no formal dress code for attending GSB concerts. Concertgoers usually dress in suits, vests, sweaters, skirts, khakis, slacks, everything! We generally recommend "business casual."

Can I leave my cell phone on during a concert?

Cellular phones, pagers and alarm watches should be turned off while in the concert hall.

Do you provide discounted tickets to groups?

Special rates are available for groups of 10 or more. Contact Us for more details.

Do you offer student ticket prices?

Yes. Students and seniors get 50% reduced ticket prices.
